As an avid Stardew Valley fan and a member of the queer community, I think it’s important to talk about how we can make games like Stardew Valley more inclusive—especially around gender inclusion and diversity. While the game itself doesn’t have these features yet, its creator, ConcernedApe, has always been openly supportive of the modding community. That support has made space for mod creators to build inclusive experiences that reflect a wider range of identities.

Pronoun Options for Trans and Non-Binary Players in Stardew Valley Petition
Stardew Mods for Inclusion
- Diverse Stardew Valley – Adds ethnic and cultural diversity to the villagers of Stardew Valley, allowing you to experience the game in a more inclusive world.

Gender Neutral Social Tab - Changes gendered words for partners to gender neutral ones in the social tab. Namely:
- "husband" and "wife" are changed to "spouse", "married", or "partner"
- "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" are changed to "partner" or "dating"
- "ex-husband" and "ex-wife" are changed to "ex-spouse", "ex-married", or "ex-partner"
Gender Neutrality Mod – This mod removes gender-specific language directed at the player and adds gender-neutral options throughout the game, allowing for a more inclusive farming experience
Gender Setter Mod – Customize the gender and pronouns of any NPC in the game, with options like He, She, They, Xe, Fae, and others
Queerify Stardew Valley – This mod allows players to experience queer-friendly dialogue and events, making the game more inclusive regardless of the farmer's gender ( Requires GNM Tokens mod)
Platonic Partners and Friendships - Provides a config option to choose marriage candidates you want a platonic (i.e. non-romantic, non-dating) relationship with, and edits all their romantic 8+ heart dialogue and events to be consistent with a close friendship. Includes a detailed, customizable platonic partnership option as an alternative to marriage.
Pride in the Valley
Adds a passive pride festival in the Community Center during Summer 15-17, featuring shops, decorations, unique dialogues, and events. It's a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ identities within the game.
